Don Mayes, Ed.D, Superintendent

Dr. Mayes became Superintendent of Indian Rocks Christian School in 2002, serving as the head of school for IRCS and Indian Rocks VERITAS Academy. He has a B.A. from Marshall University in Business Administration. He also holds an M.A. in Christian Studies and a Doctor of Education, both from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. His wife April serves as the choral director at First Baptist Church of Indian Rocks, and their two children, Daniel (class of 2018) and Kesley (class of 2013), have attended IRCS since preschool. Dr. Mayes also serves as the Association of Christian Schools International District Representative.
Perry R. Banse, Middle/High School Principal

Mr. Banse has served at IRCS since 2001. He has seven years of teaching experience and more than 23 years of experience as a principal, all in Christian schools. He has a B.S. from Grace College in Secondary Speech and English Education, a B.A. from Upper Iowa University in Elementary Education, and an M.A. in Christian School Administration from Grace Theological Seminary. He serves on the ACSI National Executive Board. Mr. Banse also coaches the IRCS Bowling Teams. Married for 33 years, he and Cindi have two adult children and four grandchildren.
Dee Bates, MS/HS Guidance Counselor

Dee Bates received a B.A. in Elementary Education from Palm Beach Atlantic University. In 2004, she received an M.A. in Education/Guidance Counseling from the University of South Florida. She started teaching at IRCS in 1985, and has been the IRCS Guidance Counselor for 10 years. Dee also serves as a Florida Terra Nova Trainer for the Association of Christian Schools International. She and her husband, Ric, have three children and four grandchildren.
Coach Phil Farver, MS/HS Athletic Director

Coach Farver is entering his 34th year of coaching and has been at IRCS since 1992. He graduated from Maranatha Baptist Bible College in Watertown with a B.S. in Secondary Education/PE/Bible. As Athletic Director, he oversees about 40 sports teams, with close to 50 coaches working on scheduling, budgeting, purchasing, transportation and development of the entire program. He is Head Coach of the girls’ basketball and softball programs. He is the author of “Five Smooth Stones” and speaks in chapel during the school year. He is the president of the Bay Conference, which includes 10 local schools, and serves on different committees for the FHSAA on a regular basis. Coach Farver and his wife Rhonda, the IRCS Vocal Deptartment Head, have two children who graduated from IRCS.
Pastor Gary McKinney, M.Div., MS/HS Dean of Students/School Pastor

Pastor McKinney has been Dean of Students and School Pastor at IRCS since February 2003. As Dean of Students, he handles discipline, processes referrals and assigns consequences, and is always looking for opportunities to talk to students about learning from their mistakes. As School Pastor, he is available to visit students or their family members for prayer before surgery or while in the hospital. He has four children and two grandchildren. His daughter graduated from IRCS in 2008, and his son is currently attending.
Joe Frost, MS/HS Assistant Dean of Students

Mr. Frost is the Assistant Dean of Students at Indian Rocks Christian School. He has served at IRCS since 1994. His wife, Sharon, teaches fourth grade at Indian Rocks, and all four of their children attend IRCS. He is a graduate of Clearwater Christian College and completed his M.A. at the University of South Florida. Besides being the Assistant Dean of Students, he also teaches Bible and coaches the varsity boys’ basketball team.
Timothy M. Rhine, Elementary Principal/Advancement Director

Mr. Rhine has served at IRCS since 2003, as a middle school teacher, guidance counselor and now in his dual roles as Elementary Principal and Advancement Director. He has a B.S. in Bible and a B.S. in Elementary Education from Philadelphia Biblical University. With his State of Pennsylvania Teacher's Certificate, He was a middle school teacher at Plumstead Christian School from 1985 to 1991, and a principal at Salem Christian School from 1991 to 2003. He has been married to June-Marie Rhine, who currently teaches high school English and is the IRCS yearbook advisor, for 24 years. They have two children, Nate and Joel, both graduates of Indian Rocks Christian School.
Nancy Prather, Preschool Principal

Mrs. Prather is at the heart and soul of our administrative team. She’s been a part of everything IRCS past and present, having been with us from the very beginning. She enriches our preschool program with her many years of experience and ensures that our preschool classes are warm, caring and Christ-centered. She completed her B.A. in Elementary Education at USF and her M.S. in Educational Leadership from Nova Southeastern University. After earning her Florida State Teaching Certification in 1969, she began her teaching career in Elementary public school in Tampa, Florida. She then moved on to teach and gain experience in preschool education. In 1984, she began working for Indian Rocks Christian School as the Preschool Coordinator. Her other roles during her career with IRCS have included Kindergarten teacher, Registrar, Elementary Principal and Curriculum Coordinator.
Kira Wilson, Administrator, VERITAS Academy

Mrs. Wilson has a B.A. in Elementary Education from the University of Florida and an M.A. in Educational Leadership from St. Leo University. After teaching seven years in traditional education and having children, she spent 10 years educating her children at home while establishing H.O.P.E. Academy for homeschoolers. In 2004, she began work as Administrator for VERITAS Academy and opened the doors to Florida’s first University-Model School® in August 2005.
Pamela Pardi, Director of Enrollment/Marketing

Pamela Pardi received her B.S. from Liberty University in 1995, and her M.S. in Education from Virginia Tech in 2005. She is ACSI certified and has served on the staff of Indian Rocks Christian School since December 2010. Her professional experience includes retail management and store operations, organizational team-building and leadership development, and community health program planning and implementation.
