Guatemala is the second most poverty stricken country in this hemisphere after Haiti. The average income per person is around $350. The people suffer with poor education and diseases caused by unclean drinking water and polluted air. Students will be working with the missionary organization Mission Impact to undertake varied rural construction projects, work with children and teens in village schools and special education facilities, serve in community health programs, or build cisterns to provide clean water and vented stoves to provide clean air. One day we may take a horseback ride to the top of a volcano. Students will have many practical opportunities to share the love of the Lord with the people of Guatemala and their fellow teammates. This trip always has a major impact on the spiritual lives of the students. Students must be at least 16 years at the time of this trip.
