  • Lady Eagles Basketball Continue Run to Final Four
  • 2/17/2010
  • The Lady Golden Eagles continue their run toward the Final Four with a historic win over Lakeland Christian last night in the Region Semifinals, 66-39. IRC has never advanced past the Semifinals in seven tries, but the 8th was a charm. Behind constant defensive pressure, strong rebounding and great team play, Indian Rocks is one game away from the Final Four in Lakeland. Lakeland Christian scored the first basket of the game, but IRC took off on a 17-0 run and never looked back. Rachel Burnett and Kristen Scholl dominated the boards, dove for loose balls and controlled the lane while scoring 16 and 14 points respectively. Tori Trador held the Lakeland Christian high scorer to 13 points while matching that total herself. Ryan Ashburn gave the Lady Golden Eagles a great boost, coming off the bench to play strong defense, rebound and score 10 points as well.
