Questions & Answers about the Annual Fund

Q: Private schools are already expensive. Why must additional money be raised for the school?

R:Tuition does not cover all of the annual cost of educating students. Like most private schools, Indian Rocks conducts an Annual Fund to help provide program enhancements, technology advancements and physical plant improvements. Revenues generated from tuition alone only stretch so far. We want our students to have the extras needed to turn a good education into an outstanding one.

Q: Are gifts to the Annual Fund tax deductible?

R: Yes. Gifts to Indian Rocks Christian School qualify as charitable contributions and can be fully deducted to the limit of IRS regulations.

Q: What if I can make only a very small contribution? How will my gift make a difference?

R: Every gift counts! Foundations and corporations consider percentage of parent participation in giving to the Annual Fund. Participation is an indicator of support for the school and its mission. Every year our goal is 100% participation.

Q: If I make a pledge, when will I be expected to pay?

A: You may pledge now and pay later. Pledges must be paid before the end of the fiscal year, June 30. You may pay in installments. Pledges may be paid on a semi-annually, quarterly, or monthly basis.

Q: Who will be included in the Annual Fund campaign?

R: The Annual Fund gives School Team Members, faculty, staff, parents, grandparents, alumni, alumni parents, and IRCS friends in the community an opportunity to invest in next generation.

Q: What about other fundraisers the school does each year?

R: The Annual Fund is not only met through financial contributions but also through funding events like the Annual Fund Event & Auction, the January Benefit Dinner with Bonefish Grill, and the Race for Education. Additional fundraisers which go one throughout the year support various groups like: Athletic teams, Fine Arts groups, class trips, or special student projects.

In addition there are a number of businesses within the community that support IRCS. They may do so through special cards or coupons used by IRCS patron which in turn allows IRCS to receive a percentage of the proceeds.
