Dear IRCS Families,
I hope this letter finds you well, and you have been able to take advantage of the freedoms we gained on Monday with Florida’s phase one reopening. IRCS is moving into the phase of finishing one school year and preparing for the next. As part of our preparation, our administrative team is monitoring the news with great interest, hoping the reopening of Florida continues in a positive direction.
As the Superintendent of IRCS, I see each student and their parents as part of the IRCS family. How we finish the year and prepare for next year will reveal a lot about the strength of our family. I believe being part of a family provides tremendous value and support for each member. Being raised in a family of 7 children, I remember the challenges of a large family, but I also remember the many blessings I was able to receive. I fondly remember the unique gift my mother had in knowing when one of us kids needed help, a talent not shared by everyone in my family right away. When mom realized one of us needed help, she would set the wheels of support in motion. As my siblings and I established our own homes, we always knew we could depend on each other, but we had to learn to ask each other for help when it was needed. Living apart required us to learn to communicate our needs and to make ourselves available to assist each other.
As you read this letter, please hear my heart, as a family, IRCS is here and wants to help you. We realize this crisis has placed many families into situations that are unfamiliar and uncomfortable. If you need help, please contact us, or Indian Rocks Baptist Church. We’re here to help!
Two years ago, IRCS implemented a plan called Continuous Enrollment. This improvement has saved families hundreds of dollars each year by eliminating annual enrollment fees. What we ask, is that families notify your levels principal if you are not going to return to IRCS for the coming year. Typically, families would have already completed this process; however, due to the COVID-19 crisis, we extended the deadline for notifying the school to May 20, 2020.
As we move into preparation for the 2020-21 school year, IRCS is committed to assisting families financially as much as we can. Several years ago, the church and school administration developed a financial assistance plan known as Variable Tuition. This plan requires families to submit financial information to IRCS by creating a FACTS account. The information you provide will allow our finance staff to make sound, practical financial decisions related to tuition. We at IRCS understand these are unique times, and we want our families to know we are willing to help you remain part of our family.
If you know your situation will not allow you to return next year, we understand and wish you well. If you are not sure or have questions about Variable Tuition, please do not hesitate to email Mayli Bennett or Julie Cavonis in the Enrollment Office: Mayli_Bennett@indianrocks.org , or Julie_cavonis@indianrocks.org. or Kelly Jones in the Finance Office: Kelly_jones@indianrocks.org. Anyone of them will be happy to answer your questions or to walk you through the steps of financial assistance. We do not have an unlimited amount of financial support, but we will do our best to help every family desiring a quality Christian education to remain a part of IRCS for the 2020-21 school year.
