To our Alumni, Supporters and Community

Indian Rocks Christian School has recently been in the spotlight because of a picture where one of our students posed in front of a whiteboard that contained an inexcusable racial slur. Our school is hurt and saddened by this inappropriate image being circulated on social media. On behalf of our school, we apologize.

Words cannot express how disappointed we are that an IRCS student would find this kind of speech acceptable. One of our goals is for every student and staff member to live according to the standards God has set for us, and when this does not happen, it is heartbreaking. It is heartbreaking because it is used by some to portray God as flawed when, in reality, it demonstrates our sinfulness and need for a Savior.

This situation will allow IRCS to have open and honest conversations between our staff and students regarding the importance of respecting each other because we are all made in God’s image. These conversations will occur through small group discussions focused on diversity and the value of every person.

As a school, we have addressed this matter and will address any other situation brought to us. There is no place for racism or any form of prejudice at Indian Rocks. It is sinful, divisive, and destructive. Please pray for our school, our students and our staff as we move forward. We desire to be faithful to Jesus and proclaim His name.
