A Parent’s Perspective

“When choosing a school for our children, we wanted them to have a well-rounded academic experience. IRCS has been able to give so much more than academics!  Strong athletics, leadership opportunities, robust enrichment activities, and a daily gift of a strong biblical worldview, are a few of the blessings this school offers! We have been thoroughly impressed with the teachers and staff that make this happen for our children.”

General Questions

IRCS offers Advanced courses for Middle School students. In high school, IRCS offers Honors, Advanced Placement, and Dual Credit courses. The IRCS curriculum is a college preparatory program designed to challenge students as they prepare for college and beyond.

IRCS teachers present all subject matter from a Biblical Worldview. The content and standards IRCS follow prepare students to perform well on the ACT and SAT; however, the Mission of IRCS is to bring every child to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. The IRCS curriculum is rigorous and challenging, but it also includes a spiritual element to ensure we are preparing our students for eternity.

All IRCS teachers must have, at minimum, a Bachelor’s Degree and obtain an Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) teaching certificate in their teaching content and level. An ACSI teaching certificate requires an individual to have a specific amount of college coursework in pedagogy and subject matter.

IRCS believes the Bible makes parents responsible for the discipline of their children. As a school, we exist to assist parents in their God-given responsibilities. IRCS does not wish to infringe on the task that God has given to parents but to work cooperatively with them in training their child’s life so that they can learn to function according to God’s law. Love is the main element of discipline.

Student safety is a priority for IRCS. The school, in conjunction with Indian Rocks Baptist Church, has safety protocols and emergency plans in place to prevent and address potential threats. IRCS has implemented multiple strategies to harden our campus, which include visitor management, surveillance, staff training, and limited access during the school day. In addition, IRCS has multiple armed security guards on campus during the school day and during evening school events.
