A Letter from Walt Weller

Dear Parents and Supporters of Indian Rocks Christian School,

Last year, IRCS began efforts to place increased emphasis on exposing our students to STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math). This effort naturally aligns with the IRCS Mission of providing a quality Christian Education. We are committed to ensuring a productive, vibrant program for every age and grade level, with the overarching idea of providing IRCS students the opportunity to apply what they are learning in class to solve real world problems.

For our program to become fully functional, we need to provide our students and staff with a STEM Resource Center. The church has graciously provided a building and our plan is to renovate it into a state-of-the-art resource center that will be available to our students and staff during and after the school day. Practically speaking, we are providing an interactive, multi-faceted laboratory.

For this to happen, we need your financial assistance! In the past, we held our fundraisers in the fall and focused on funding key projects that provided wonderful results. Those fundraising events included wonderful demonstrations of students singing and performing. This year, our fundraising event will be a ticketed dinner. The focus of the evening is two-fold; first, we want to explain the purpose and use of a STEM Resource Center. Second, secure your assistance in raising the funding necessary to make this resource center a reality.

We know this worthwhile project will be very expensive. You can support this project by making a donation, or by sponsoring a table of six for $150 and inviting individuals or businesses interested in supporting STEM related educational efforts. Together we can make our community aware of our needs and generate the financial support necessary to make this resource a reality. As our students succeed, our community will benefit as well.
